Once upon a time, there was a young man who was alone in his life. He had no people to trust and no one trusted him. He tried and tried but he was always alone. One day, he found an angel flitting around with the other angels. He summoned up all his courage and asked the angel if she would be his friend. She was surprised, but she giggled and told him yes.
For the next few months, he followed her and watched her as she played with the other angels. He got jealous of her sometimes, but he let her do what she wanted... she was, after all,an angel, and he was only a man. Then one day the angel noticed he was slowly slipping further and further away from her. She asked him why, he told her the darkness was calling.
The angel left her friends and promised to stay with him forever, she loved him so and he had treated her like a princess. So she followed the man as he went on with his life. But other than the angel, there was no one else there with him. The angel sometimes missed her old way of life. Everynow and then she'd wander off to look at the things she used to have, or to talk to her old friends. But she always came back because she realized that she was hurting him everytime she left...
Eventually the young man got tired of being left alone by his angel, so he chained her to him. She let him do so, even though she wanted freedom...
From then on, everytime she strayed, her chain pulled on the man and he pulled her back and scolded her. The angel broke down and cried everytime this happened, because she wasn't used to being shouted at. He no longer saw her as a princess, or an angel. Her clothes and skin became as tattered and dirty as her broken heart...
Slowly, little by little, the young man realized that he was hurting his angel... the one being who had sincerely cared about him and loved him. At first, he didnt want to admit that he was the cause of her tears. But soon he couldn't ignore it. So one day whilst she cried, he cast off her chains and toldher that she needn't follow him anymore.
But the next day as he travelled down the road of Life, he noticed the angel flitting slowly and quietly behind him. He turned around and told her to get lost, but the angel simply smiled and followed. The young man tried to hurt her, ignore her, but she was always smiling that sad smile and following him. Eventually he stopped, grabbed her and asked her why.
She told him that she had fallen in love with the demon she'd seen in his soul. She told him that she saw that all he wanted was for someone to truly care for him and stay with him to keep his heart and soul company forever. So she decided to stay with him no matter what. Even if he ignored her, she'd still follow him to the end of their days and do her best to make his life bearable. The young man shrugged and told her to do as she liked. The worn and tired angel kept smiling her soft, sad smile as she followed him, wishing and praying that one day she could be his princess, his beautiful angel once again...
